Reading Clue Logic

Public puzzles expose clue kind values so experienced solvers can pattern-match quickly.

Common kinds

• not_has — a suspect does not hold a named object.
• not_at — a suspect is not in a named location.
• Combined narrative hints may imply exclusions without naming the culprit outright.

Build a grid

Draw three rows (suspects) and columns for locations and objects. Strike cells forbidden by clues. When a row or column has a single remaining option, fill it in and propagate.

Avoid story traps

Intro copy sets atmosphere. It rarely overrides a hard clue. Prefer the ordered clue list over dramatic flavor when the two seem to conflict.
